Our Team
Mickey Varner
Mickey is a lifelong resident of Rock Hill SC, where he lives with his wife, Donna. He started in the insurance business with Kanawha Insurance Company in 1990, where he specialized in Medicare and Long Term care. Mickey enjoys playing golf, but what he really loves I spending time spoiling his grandchildren.
Mickey is still in insurance after all of these years because he enjoys helping people. He loves what he does, and still loves coming to work every day.
Carlton Gillis
Carlton is a lifelong resident of Lancaster SC, where he lives with his blushing bride, Gail. He started in the insurance business with Kanawha Insurance Company in August 1990, where he specialized in Life Sales, Medicare Supplements and Annuities. He enjoys anything outdoors with a passion for quail hunting. He loves traveling to places he’s never been before and looking for a great meal along the way.
Because Carlton loves to help people, the insurance business has been especially rewarding to him.
Ed Ogburn
Ed is a lifelong resident of Lancaster, where he lives with his wife, Nancy. He started in the insurance business with Pilot Life in 1982, moving to Kanawha Insurance Company in 1997. Ed's specialties are health insurance and final expense life policies. He enjoys playing the mandolin and guitar as well as reading books when he is not hard at work at KFS.
Ed is still in the business after 39 years because loves being able to help people. He works hard to find solutions to client’s problems.
Robert Broach
Robert is a resident of Catawba, SC by way of Lancaster, SC. His wife of 45 years is Ann. Robert started in the insurance business with Kanawha Insurance Company in 1997 after retiring from the City of Lancaster Police Department with 25 years of service.
His specialty is Senior Benefits
Robert enjoys golf and fishing when he’s not pounding the pavement at KFS, or spoiling his grandchildren.
After all these years, Robert is still in insurance business because he enjoys meeting new people and being able to provide them with excellent service.
Chuck Funderburk
Chuck and his wife, Lynn, are lifelong residents of Lancaster, SC
Chuck started in the insurance business with Kanawha Insurance Company in 1999 where he specialized in long term care.
Chuck enjoys woodworking when he’s not hard at work at KFS, or visiting his grandchildren. Chuck joined Kanawha after his parents showed him a brochure about long term care insurance. He is still in the business because he has seen firsthand the difference insurance can make in a family’s life.
Benny Mackey
Benny is a resident of Lancaster SC, by way of Kershaw, SC, where he met his wife of 32 years, Yvonne. Benny started in the insurance business with Kanawha Insurance Company in 1993, where he specialized in Life Sales and Long Term care.
He enjoys anything outdoors, with a passion for turkey hunting, and teaching calls to his grandson.
Benny is still in insurance after all of these years because he loves to help people.
Lewie Pitts
Lewie is a lifelong resident of Lancaster, by way of Heath Springs, along with his bride, Robin.
Lewie started in the insurance business with Kanawha Insurance Company in 1992, with life and Medicare Supplements being his specialty. When he’s not hard at work at KFS, Lewie enjoys spending time in his yard, playing with his grandkids, and cheering for Gamecock football.
Lewie is still in insurance business after 29 years because he enjoys working with people. It is rewarding to be able to help them with the services he has to offer.
Paul Hemphill
Paul is a lifelong resident of Chester, SC but now resides in Rock Hill. After graduating from the Citadel – Go bulldogs - Paul started in the insurance business with Kanawha Insurance Company in 1991. His specialty is whole life insurance
When he’s not hard at work, Paul enjoys swimming and walking.
Paul is still in insurance business after 30 years because he enjoys his job.
Larry Munsey
Larry is a resident of Rock Hill, with family roots in Fort Mill. His wife of 52 years is Carolyn. Larry started in the insurance business with Life of Georgia in 1986, before moving to Kanawha Insurance Company in 1996. His specialty is medicare supplement insurance. When he’s not hard at work, Larry enjoys golf and camping while spending time with his family.
Larry is still in insurance business after so many years because he likes to help people with their various insurance needs.
Remmi Hines
Remmi is a resident of Fort Lawn, SC, where she lives with her husband of 20 years, Tommy. Remmi started in the insurance business with Kanawha Insurance Company in 2003, after earning her insurance degree at the University of South Carolina. When not hard at work, Remmi enjoys time with her family exploring the outdoors, from the mountains to the coast.
Remmi is in insurance because she enjoys helping people navigate the insane world of insurance.
